Split green peas 1 cup, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
Ginger garlic paste 1 TBSP
Red onions ½ cup, thinly sliced
Chicken masala powder 1 heaping tsp (you can use any masala powder of your choice)
Salt as needed
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Curry leaves a few
Oil 1 tsp
Preparation
Cook the soaked peas with enough water until soft. Drain excess water and keep aside.
Now heat a non-stick pan with 1 tsp oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add the ginger garlic paste along with curry leaves and sauté till golden brown in color. Next add the thinly sliced onions and sauté well until they fetch a brown color. Add salt and chicken masala powder. Mix well and add a TBSP water and the cooked split peas. Sauté till dry. Enjoy as a side dish for rice…
Cheers!!!
