Here is another easy fish curry recipe from my mom’s cooking repository. She is an expert in preparing fish curries and this one is the easiest and I guarantee, no one can go wrong with this preparation. Enjoy!!!
Fish ½ kg, cut to pieces (I used tilapia)
Grated coconut ½ cup
Shallots 3 nos
Whole red chilly 6 nos
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Fenugreek powder 1 tsp
Gamboge 4 nos, soaked in 1 cup warm water
Ginger a small piece
Green chilly 2 nos, slit
Salt as needed
Coconut oil 1 tsp
Curry leaves 2 sprigs (i haven’t used curry leaves here as I didn’t have any)
Preparation
Heat a pan and roast the dry red chilly for 2 minutes. Cool down and grind the chilly along with grated coconut, shallots. Now add the powders and grind again to a paste. Set aside.
Now in a clay pot or any deep cooking vessel add the gamboge along with the water. Then add the ground paste, salt, ginger and green chilly. Switch on flame and bring this to a boil. Once boiling add the fish pieces and cook until fish pieces are tender and cooked through. Sprinkle 1 tsp coconut oil and curry leaves. Switch off flame and keep covered until ready to serve. Adipoli meen curry ready ..
Cheers!!!
