Another master piece from my mother in law’s kitchen. A yummy dish that can be a part of breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. Hope y’ll will enjoy too…
Kadachakka/Breadfruit 1 cup, chopped to medium size triangles
Onion 1 medium, cut to cubes
Green chilly 2 nos, slit
Ginger 2 TBSP, julienned
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 3 tsp
Garam masala 1 tsp
Thick coconut milk ½ cup
Thin coconut milk 1.5 cups
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Coconut slices ¼ cup
Curry leaves 2-3 sprigs
Coconut oil 1 TBSP
Salt as needed
Preparation
In a pressure cooker, add 1 TBSP oil and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves. Now add the ginger and green chilly and sauté till a nice aroma develops. Follow up with onions and garam masala. Saute till onions are transparent. Now lower flame and add all the powders. Cook this for 5 minutes and add coconut slices and adjust salt. Give a good mix and add the breadfruit/kadachakka. Mix well and add 2 cups thin coconut milk. Put the cover on pressure cook till 1 whislte. Let the pressure release by itself. Open lid and thicken the gravy if needed. Lastly add the thick coconut milk and bring to boil. Switch off flame and enjoy best with appams, idiyappams or rotis…
Cheers!!!
